Rare Christofle "Marly" cake or pie server in 925 Sterling silver. The left side of the server features the O C silver mark with a bee, on the right the inscriptions Christofle. The center of the slicer shows the guilded initials N.H. The handle has a rich floral decoration, and is marked with the Christofle OC mark and bee. The model is named after the Castle Marly, located near Paris, a summer residence built for Louis XIV. "Marly" is the most richly ornamented model in the Christofle Collection. The very fine chasing of the decoration is typical of the Rocaille style which was developed under Louis XV and emphasises the French richness and refinement.
There are little signs of ware and a small dent on top of the handle.
